![]() I thought to give my contribution to this post, because I had to replace the right speaker. Just press the plastic structure of the speaker. Of course don’t press directly on the “sub” speaker. ![]() ![]() To have the best contact between the speaker and the structure.īefore doing anything you can try with a sound: just play on the new speaker a sound like low voice (you will ear better this distorsion with low medium frequency than very low frequency)Īnd just press on the speaker, the distorsion will disapear. You can manage it to keep this really really thin adhesive surface at the same place it was originally.Īfter that you just put the new speaker and press it in its cabinet… but really press it a LOT !!!! You have too keep the best way you can the original adhesive on the mac structure when you leave the speaker. I had this blown sound on my replaced left speaker too, I fixed it again. I replaced mine because of the same issue you had (and obviously I know that will happen again sadly) If you have a semi contact between the speaker and its cabinet you will have distorsion too. If you have too much adhesive tape between the speaker and its “cabinet” you will have distorsion Apple Support was very helpful in trying to answer my question and I understood that the Single module with the faster memory would work.It grows when you lower the frequency because it’s ringing the structure of the speaker with the mac structure. I had read that but couldn not find the answer to my specific question. Though, usually that is a more expensive option than 2 X the modules of half as much memory.Īnd yes, the memory installation is clearly detailed In the link from "About this imac", with a step by step procedure and the specifications of the memory modules for specific models. I am sure that I am not the first one to use a faster memory than the cpu/bus speed.Īlso, I think I have seen a few PCs with a single Factory installed memory modules. I am away from the home/ office for the weekend will post if it works on late Sunday or Monday morning. I have bought the single module and it should work in one of the slots per Apple support, or at least per my understanding from a quick chat with Apple Support. The 2400 MHz, particularly 2 X 8 GB memory should have been cheaper, if available. I could only get the single 16 GB 2666 MHz memory module from the nearby Fry's storelast night. ![]()
